The Registered Nurse will provide health services to children at the Sheltering Arms Reception Center, which is a Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services program located in the Baychester area of the Bronx. The Sheltering Arms Reception Center is a pre-placement residential setting for children 0 through 12 years of age who are awaiting identification of an appropriate foster care placement. The design and intent of the Reception Center is to offer infants and children 0 through 12 years of age a home-like and welcoming environment, which would be comforting during a very difficult time. The Reception Center has a capacity for 15 children and a nurse is on site twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. This job entails three 12-hour shifts a week, including the option for overtime. Scheduling has flexibility, working in conjunction with the other nurses on staff. This role is under the supervision of the Sheltering Arms Medical Director and Director of Health Services.

Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30 lbs. Must be able to travel from the various locations and sites of Sheltering Arms.
