This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Real Estate Risk Professional to join the REB Portfolio Management team. This team partners with REB Coverage and Underwriting to ensure robust and accurate portfolio reporting by performing and overseeing a variety of enhanced data management and portfolio management functions. The successful candidate will perform necessary real estate based credit analysis and portfolio management for assigned portfolio of REB relationships. He/she will be a key resource concerning credit issues on assigned portfolio of relationships. He/she will also serve as a mentor to more junior credit managers and credit analysts. Responsibilities:Monitor/manage ongoing performance/risk of a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate loans including derivatives and other credit products in accordance with Credit PolicyPortfolio Management: Enhanced, improved and in-depth portfolio monitoring; Coordination with CRE Market Surveillance team; Interact with REB Risk Underwriting Team, Client Executives, and other internal product partnersAnnual Review Process: Prepare and submit annual review packages by established deadlines containing a thorough analysis of the guarantor/sponsor and related commercial real estate loans and/or other credit products. Drive consistency and quality; Monitor timelinessRisk Rating: Continuously monitor the portfolio for risk rating appropriateness and perform off-cycle risk rating changes as neededFinancial Statement and Covenant MonitoringInternal Systems Data Management: system data ownership, quality and timely updates for internal reporting, portfolio reviews, and criticized loan managementControls and Compliance: monitor loans for covenant, reporting, and regulatory compliance Special projects as necessary
Bachelor s degree in
accounting, finance, economics or real estate, plus 7+ years of experience in
commercial real estate or debt financing, or equivalent is preferredIn-depth knowledge of
underwriting methodology and experience evaluating risk across multiple product
types including office, retail, industrial, and multifamilyAdept
at interpreting and detecting issues that impact risk rating rational Experience presenting
information in an organized manner that concisely express ideas and propose
effective solutions Highly motivated,
detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as
part of a team comprised of local and remote colleaguesAbility to work under
critical time constraints while managing multiple deadlinesExcellent communication,
organization and interpersonal skillsCompletion of formal
credit training program preferredPassion for commercial
real estateAbility to travel on a
periodic basis
