COAL Operations Team Leader

Regulatory Control Operations (RCO),
which is aligned under Consumer and Community Banking, provides a wide range of
global operational support and services for retail, commercial, treasury, asset
wealth management and credit card customers.

Court Orders and Levies (COAL)
COAL processes Asset-Based
Orders served on JP Morgan Chase by restraining customers funds and other
assets held by the bank. The court system/government agencies issue a
variety of orders to collect on debts or money judgments based on statutory
terms and procedures. Money judgments are the result of a lawsuit or
other debt default process where a judge or jury find in favor of the plaintiff
(third-party) and award damages from the defendant (JPMC customer).
Government agencies will also issue levies ordering asset restraint for child
support, delinquent taxes or other customer defaulted debts. Law enforcement
will seek to restrain or seize assets for violation of law or civil
forfeiture.

COAL Operations Team Leader
As a Team Leader for COAL processes,
you will assist with the supervision of a unit of approximately 15 to 20
Document Review Specialists ensuring individual and unit goals are met. You
will provide coaching and guidance to Document Review Specialists who are
responsible for thoroughly reviewing, analyzing and executing various legal
documents served to Chase from all 50 states based upon applicable laws and
bank policy. Operational responsibilities include answering questions on a
routine basis, providing input to the Operations Supervisors in regards to
individual performance of processors, timely identification of red flags,
ensure that procedures are followed and adhere to the process. As a Team Leader
you will be expected to have an increased knowledge and understanding of asset
based orders and be equipped to handle escalated issues that may arise.
Additional responsibilities include assisting in reviewing the aging cases and
ensure they are worked in a timely fashion and to process cases daily to ensure
SLA is being met.

Must demonstrate excellent
communication and customer relations' skills (verbal and written) along with
creating a positive, professional, team work environment.
Qualifications
Requires minimum 1 year leadership experience
Requires minimum of 2 years experience in one or more
of the following: financial services or branch operations or compliance/legal
operations or case based service operations experience
Prefer Call center experience or Branch experience
Prefer Bachelors Degree in related
field (Corporate Law, Legal Assistant, Criminal Justice, etc)
Prefer Paralegal certification
Prior experience in high production area preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
including: Excel, Word, and Outlook and general desktop PC operation

Prefer familiarity with legal documents such as
information subpoenas, restraining notices, levies, garnishments and court
orders preferred
Strong computer skills
Support and drives team work
Required to demonstrate strong customer service skills
suitable for a business environment
Must be willing to travel on occasions for off-site
meetings
Must be flexible and adaptable to change, frequent
overtime/weekend hours may be required.
Legal requirements and risk controlled nature of work
requires rigid adherence to performance standards as a condition of
employment
