Job Description

Under the guidance of asmall team of senior JFIN Risk Officers, oversee and participate in the underwritingand execution of all syndicated leveraged loan and bridge-to-high yield bondfinancings originated by Jefferies’ investment banking platform.

Day-to-day engagement witha broad range of Jefferies leveraged finance professional across industryverticals including Retail & Consumer, TMT, FIG, REGAL, Business Services,Healthcare, Industrials, Aerospace & Defense, Power, Energy, and Metals& Mining.

  • Workdirectly with leveraged finance and industry deal team members to oversee allaspects of underwriting and execution
  • Assistin identifying key risk factors / areas for focus during due diligence; engagein review of company, sponsor, and 3rd party materials; participatein diligence sessions with deal teams.
  • Guideproper navigation of internal approval processes, with primary responsibilityfor initial review of all of approval memoranda for accuracy, format, andcompleteness of content.
  • Ensuresuccessful closing / funding of financing transactions in compliance withpolicies and procedures, and facilitate handoff to JFIN Portfolio Managementteam.
  • Workdirectly with senior leveraged finance deal team members providing input oncredit documentation, in conjunction with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Financinggrids / term sheets, commitment / fee / engagement letters, and creditagreements.
  • Adviseleveraged finance deal team members in proper credit analysis / due diligence, andfinancial statement analysis / modeling as part of annual new hire trainingprograms as well as on an ongoing basis as required.



  • Undergraduatedegree from a leading institution; concentration in Finance, Accounting, orEconomics preferred.
  • 6- 10 years of relevant experience - leveraged lending, leveraged finance and/ortransactional experience preferred.
  • Formalcredit training a plus.
  • Financialmodeling training and experience.
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.
  • Abilityto work well independently and as part of a small team.
  • Livein or willing to relocate to New York.
